I was commissioned to paint seven 3x4 foot canvases for a restaurant in Woodville, Mississippi, called Community Grocery. Six paintings feature portraits of well-known individuals who grew up in Woodville and made significant contributions to the town, while the seventh showcases the iconic City Hall at the heart of the community. I thoroughly enjoyed this project because the woman who commissioned the pieces gave me complete creative freedom. She provided photos of the individuals and trusted me to bring them to life in my own artistic style. Seeing my work displayed in a beautiful restaurant and appreciated by the locals is an incredibly rewarding experience!
